September Regular Monthly Meeting
Our REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING will be SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2016 at 3:45PM
(instead of the 13th)
We will be making nominations for the Union Officers that will lead YOUR union during the 2016-2019 term.
We will VOTE on your nominations at the OCTOBER meeting, and the new administration will take over at the NOVEMBER meeting.
All positions are open for nominations. Some of the present Administration has stated they will or will not accept re-election, while others have not indicated whether or not they wish to serve again.
Positions needing filled are: President, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Trustees (3), Safety Representative, Master At Arms, Maintenance Stewards (3), Electrical Stewards (2), Work Management Steward, Operations Steward (2), Stores Steward, Coal Handling Stewards (3), Solid Waste Processing Steward, and a Chemical Technicians Steward.
If you are nominated and NOT at the meeting, you will be notified and asked whether you accept or decline nomination to the position for which you were nominated.
If elected, you will assume the responsibility of representing your fellow Union Brothers and Sisters in disagreements with management, you will be obligated to post a phone number on our website and be called when away from work, assist other officers in handling grievances and preparing for arbitrations when warranted, and policing the collective bargaining agreement in the workplace.
At the discretion of the incoming President, you may also serve on the bargaining committee for our NEXT collective bargaining agreement in 2018.
This is Democracy in action, and a solemn duty of every member that will chart the course of YOUR union for the NEXT 3 YEARS. Talk to current officers and find out if they want to be nominated again for election, or to other members who YOU may think can perform the functions of representing YOU in the workplace.
2016 General Election
BAD candidates are ELECTED when GOOD PEOPLE DON’T VOTE!
REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
Primary Election Day
The people of West Virginia have only THEMSELVES to blame in the passing of the “Workplace Freedom Act” and the repeal of the Prevailing Wage.
Unions went to sleep and the people of West Virginia bought the lie of “Obama’s War On Coal” hook, line and sinker (See: “War On Coal or Massive Deception”).
We must REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER, to vote the enemies of West Virginia workers OUT and get representatives that are FOR the people and not against them!
